Cheder Club

Our Aim

Learning should not only be about gaining more knowledge and skills, but also a fun and interactive experience.  We aim for all to have a great time and learn in the process.

Our Staff

We have a dedicated and knowledgeable staff who have years of experience working with children and have children themselves. Please feel free to ask if you are interested in helping out.

At Etz Chaim, Thanet and District Reform Synagogue, we have an active Cheder Club run by an experienced teacher. The children range from 3 – 14 years old and participate in a wide range of activities. We sing, we create and we learn together, with parents choosing to be involved in the fun – adding an extra social dimension.

During the recent lockdown our children have created pictures for those in our community who are elderly and those who work for the NHS. Our Zoom services on erev Shabbat have been enhanced by their singing and they are involved in a virtual choir activity.

In normal times we have baked challah, made recycled paper, planted trees and done so much more, all the while enjoying our learning. Chanukah has been enhanced by the readings they have written and Tu B’Shvat has been extra special with their singing and the wondrous plates of fruit they set out for us all to share during our service.

Should you wash to know anymore about Cheder Club or our work with children, please feel free to contact us. We woulds love to hear from you.
